Paso Robles Wine Country and Wineries
Paso Robles wine country is home to an abundance of different types of wineries. With it’s perfect climate, the area is known for producing some award-winning wines. Located between San Francisco and Los Angeles in San Luis Obispo County, Paso Robles offer wine enthusiasts over 200 wineries and over 26,000 vineyard acres. There are more than 40 varieties of grapes grown in the area due to its diverse micro-climates and geographies. The main wines found coming out of this region are Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Syrah, Petite Syrah, Sauvignon Blanc, Roussanne and Viognier. Although mainly focusing on Rhone, Bordeaux and Italian blends, the region has started creating their own unique blends that you’re bound to enjoy!
The Paso Robles region is also known for the many wine events and festivals. As an example, every year in March the Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance hosts the ever famous Zinfandel Festival. This event includes some of the best Central Coast Zinfandel producers which allows the public to explore the many options available. This organization is a non-profit alliance formed for the communities benefit and to demonstrate the excellence and background of Paso Robles wine. There are many more festivals that take place throughout the year such as the Paso Robles Wine Festival in May and the Harvest Wine Weekend in October, all of which would entice the average wino to partake in.
